Dear United States of America,
people tend to forget that democracy is a human right, and that allows one to vote for and against legislations. if 60% of Americans oppose Gay marriage, then doesn’t the right to democracy surpass the perceived right of marriage?
The major flaw of democracy is the tyranny of the majority. There are certain rights which can’t or shouldn’t be taken away from a minority group by a misled majority. So, the right of democracy does not surpass any human right in a normative sense, that is if you ask J.S. Mill.
